The role and opportunity
We are looking for a Finance Business Partner to provide insightful financial advice and analysis, supporting AgResearch’s leaders in achieving their strategic goals. In this role, you will work closely with diverse teams, using your financial expertise to guide decision-making and ensure the organisation's financial sustainability.
This position is a 10-month, full-time maternity cover position based in Lincoln. As Financial Business Partner, you will support the Business Planning & Performance Manager to developing and maintaining the planning and performance finance function at AgResearch.

What you will be doing
- Adapt the costing and pricing processes as required using or developing appropriate models and methodologies.
- Facilitate costing and pricing processes, ensuring financial sustainability.
- Partner with internal stakeholders to provide financial analysis and insights for science projects and other initiatives.
- Develop and present operational reporting and analysis to stakeholders.
- Support annual budgeting and forecasting processes.
- Assist in preparing business cases for strategic investments and decisions.
- Regularly review and enhance financial practices and system integrity.
- Promote and uphold best practices in financial policy, processes, and systems.

About you
You are a detail-oriented finance professional with a strong analytical mindset and a passion for collaborating with stakeholders to drive meaningful outcomes. You thrive in complex environments and excel at influencing and advising teams across the organisation.

Qualifications and experience
- Tertiary qualification in Finance, Accounting, Commerce, or related disciplines.
- Qualified Chartered Accountant status or equivalent (preferred).
- 5+ years’ experience providing financial insights in large, complex organisations.
- Proficient in management accounting and financial management principles.
- Strong knowledge of financial standards, GAAP, and relevant legislation.
- Expertise with integrated financial planning tools and tier 1-2 Financial Management systems.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
