The role is based in our Environmental Science North team, a world-leading team of researchers developing solutions for environmental challenges in pastoral agriculture.

What you will be doing
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Research Associate to work alongside world leading scientists to tackle the big environmental issues facing our agricultural sector. The Research Associate will support both field and laboratory experiments. In this role, you will play a critical part in coordinating and conducting data collection, analysis, and reporting for a range of research projects under the direction of the project leader.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the design, execution, and monitoring of field and laboratory experiments.
- Collect and process samples from soil and plants, measuring greenhouse gas emissions, while ensuring high-quality standards are maintained.
- Perform data analysis using appropriate tools and methodologies and contribute to the interpretation of results.
- Prepare and deliver reports on research findings for internal and external stakeholders.
- Work closely with other technical staff to ensure efficient and effective workflow in both field and lab settings.
- Support the management of research projects, including coordinating tasks and meeting deadlines.

Your ideal background
You will have a relevant tertiary qualification; 1-3 years’ experience as a Research Associate is preferred but not required. You will bring with you an enthusiastic, collaborative approach to working within a multidisciplinary team, have strong problem-solving skills with a creative ‘outside-the-box’ approach to research challenges. Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
